Ingredients

  1. 🦑 - 500g Squid - cleaned and sliced into rings

  2. 🌶️ - 2 Green chillies, sliced

  3. 🍅 - 2 Tomatoes, finely chopped

  4. 🧅 - 1 large Onion, finely chopped

  5. 🧄 - 1 teaspoon Garlic, minced

  6. 🧆 - 1 teaspoon Ginger, finely chopped

  7. 🍃 - A handful of Curry leaves

  8. 🌶️🌶️ - 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder

  9. 🌿 - Fresh coriander leaves (optional- for garnish)

  10. 🧂 - Salt to taste

  11. 🌕🍚 - 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder

  12. 🍂- 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala

  13. 🌰 - 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper powder

      Instructions

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan over medium heat.

  2. Add chopped ginger, minced garlic, chopped onion, curry leaves, and sliced green chillies. Sauté for 2 to 3 minutes until the onions are translucent.

  3. Add chopped tomatoes to the pan and cook until they become mushy, stirring occasionally.

  4. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.

  5. Add the cleaned and sliced squid to the pan. Mix thoroughly to coat the squid with the spice mixture.

  6. Cover the pan and let it cook for 5 to 6 minutes.

  7. Remove the lid and cook uncovered until the mixture thickens and dries a little, forming a thick masala. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

  8. Once the squid is cooked and the masala has thickened, add black pepper powder. Mix well.

  9. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.

  10. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves if desired.

  11. Serve hot and enjoy your Squid Masala!
